Mil Días Cigar Review Podcast: Crowned Heads Blend

Exploring the Mil Días cigar by Crowned Heads — flavor notes, rum pairings, and why it’s a home run.

🔥 Podcast Highlights

  • The story behind the Mil Días — Crowned Heads’ 1000-day masterpiece.

  • A full flavor journey: spice, cream, coffee, cocoa, and leather.

  • Why aged rum pairings like Zacapa 23 or Brugal 1888 unlock the cigar’s best qualities.

A Crowned Heads Classic, 1000 Days in the Making

Some cigars take you by surprise. Others stay with you long after the smoke fades. For me, the Mil Días by Crowned Heads has earned a place alongside two of my all-time favorites — the My Father Le Bijou 1922 and the E.P. Carrillo Pledge.

“Mil Días,” or one thousand days, reflects the time it took to bring this blend to life. Crafted at Tabacalera Pichardo in Nicaragua, it features an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, and fillers from Nicaragua, Peru, and Costa Rica. The result? A medium-to-full cigar with layers of spice, cream, coffee, cocoa, and leather — a true journey from first puff to final inch.

Pairing the Mil Días

While this cigar plays beautifully with bourbon or coffee, I believe its perfect match is aged rum. A pour of Zacapa 23, Diplomatico, or Brugal 1888 mirrors its sweetness and amplifies its spice, creating a pairing that feels seamless.

Final Takeaway

For me, the Mil Días is nothing short of a home run. Balanced, complex, and endlessly rewarding — it’s a cigar I’ll be coming back to often.
